That’s me. The one holding the silk rose.

Look at that death stare. My sweater dress reads “Key to my heart”. Amazing.

I am now a mom of two and am married to a graphic designer who organizes our dinner plates by color. We have a 13 year old and a 10 year old. Here's our quirky little crew, minus our fun-loving, though neurotic rescue pup, Lily.

Why I am a family photographer…

Every year, around Father's Day, I dig out this photo of my dad carrying me in a baby backpack. It was a casual moment on the Cape, headed out to the beach. He looks so happy. I look so… hungry.

Also: Look. at. my. dad’s. hair. lucious.

My dad is like the Mr. Rogers of New Hampshire. He is kind, loving, and wicked funny. I love him so much. Through this photo, I am able to meet my dad as a young man. I’m able to see a moment that I don’t remember. I’m able to see a bit of his parenting journey.

And while we’re at it, my mom is pretty amazing too. She was the quiet one behind the scenes, keeping everything going- dance recitals, piano lessons, and football practice. Every day after school, an after school snack. Every Valentine’s Day, she would have flowers delivered to me at school. She listened to us endlessly (and still does!).

Here we are, living our best life in matching kilts from Scotland. BOOM.

My parents displayed photos in our home- see mine? Seeing those photos displayed in our home contributed to our sense of belonging. Seeing them now helps us relive those days when we were young and amazing, wearing white tights, and glasses half the size of our face.

I love being a photographer because I get to be part of this process. Working together to create beautiful images that create a sense of belonging and bring you right back.
